We are so excited to offer up the ultimate in sugar glider toys -
the PuzzleSAURUS. This one is THE Fisher Price of sugar glider
toys. It has a unique medley of games and puzzles that will work
your fuzzbutt into a befuddled frenzy! Other toys can be hung
on it to turn it into the ultimate playhouse. And there is even
a big ole treat holder at one end, so your gliders can restore
their glycogen levels between busy frolic sessions on the array of
pushy, pulley and swingy devices. And it can also be used as a
branch for your pets to chill out on after a lengthy physical and
mental endurance challenge.
The PuzzleSAURUS is particularly useful for sugar gliders residing in solid roof mansions like the
hexagonal deluxe cage or rectangular deluxe
cage. It is a simple interactive device that allows easy hanging of other toys designed to be hung from the roof of a
cage. There is a huge ring at the top of the toy that will
support the hanging of other toys.
Plus, on one side, the PuzzleSAURUS has a single extender arm with
two
holes in the end you can use to customize your own version of this
toy. Pull fabric, fleece, or glider-safe rope through these
holes, or hang more toys from them!
Sprouting off one side of this extender arm is yet another extension that
is a big ole plastic threaded screw with a separate "nut"
that twists up and down the threaded part of the screw. It
doesn't take much pressure to get that screw twisting - a simple
nudge from your sugar glider will get it going. It's like
watching your glider in Bob Vila's workshop!
Now hold onto your hats because this is a first: a sugar glider abacus!
Arnold just loooooves this feature because he wants to be like his mum,
Lisa, who has been known to wax poetic to Arnold about her former days as a bean-counting CPA!
And we're just smitten that Arnold is starting to show a real aptitude for
bean-counting! The only issue he has is the name - he'd prefer to call
it yogie-drop counting. We'll have to see what we can do
about that. But anyway, your sugar glider will be also be delighted to
slip and slide those "beans" back and forth (picture at left) with their li'l hands
and feet. And no worries - they're not really beans!
They are just little plastic beads that kind look like beans - no
worries.
On the opposite side of the rope and screw extension arms is
a two-pronged arm with more surprises and delights in store for your
fuzzy buddies! The top extension contains a rotating plastic
thingamajig that rolls around in a motion similar to a rowboat oar and can be used
for twisting, batting, riding, swinging, turning, tail-curling, etc.
The bottom extension is a short nubby arm that your sugar glider can
hang from. Some suggies may be seen using it to give
themselves a massage on the top of their heads, necks, patagiums, etc.!
And it's also perfect for an itchy back that a self-centered cage mate won't help with!
But we're not done yet - the exploration the PuzzleSAURUS
provides is unbelievable! Look at the large ball at the
"head" end of the toy. Although Arnold truly feels the love
for the bean-counter game, his favorite feature of all is what he
likes to call the "eight-eyed angel". What on earth,
you may ask? Well, Arnold says she is wearing a halo and has eyes in the back
and front of her head (4 per side), through which treats are
inserted! Go figure...Arnold logic.
This toy looks a little unusual, in a dinosaur-esque kind of
way. The manufacturer of this toy created four
different colors (see colors at left), but since they can't ship
us specific colors, we are unable to promise you a specific
color.
This toy is very well made and extremely durable. Made
completely of nylon with nickel-plated steel metal parts, it is very
easy to clean and will not absorb odors. At its longest point,
the toy is a whopping 14"; at the widest point, it is
8". The diameter of the treat ball is 2". Arm
with rope ties measures 4", screw arm measures 2-1/4", arm
with thingamajig measures 2.5" and the nubby arm is about
2". The width of the mounting base is 4".
Whew!
It is your choice how and where you want to mount the
PuzzleSAURUS, but we generally recommend attaching it inside the
habitat, either on the side or from the top. You can also
attach it to the outside of the cage when you let your sugar gliders
out in the evenings for a little interactive games with the family.
The directions for installation are as follows:
1) Unscrew the two wingnuts and remove them, along with the
washers.
2) Place the PuzzleSAURUS into position inside (or outside
of) your cage. Be sure to allow the 2 threaded rods to go
through to the other side of the cage.
3) Slip the two washers into position, followed by the the
two wingnuts. Then just tighten the wingnuts securely.
The safety of your sugar gliders is the primary concern here at
SunCoast. Our quality assurance team conducted extensive
research to ensure every detail in the construction of this toy was
top-of-the-line. The hard nylon construction will not be susceptible to chewing
gliders
and the metal hardware parts are nickel-plated stainless steel.
The PuzzleSAURUS is a quiet toy that promises to
offer you and your sugar gliders endless hours of fun. Sugar
gliders are very smart animals, and like their human counterparts,
they also require exercise for good health. We think this toy
is the perfect way to keep them both mentally and physically
challenged for a healthy body / mind connection. Up next,
Sugar Glider Yoga & Meditation - no, no, we're just kidding!
