Hi Lisa,
I just got the ladder/swing I ordered from SunCoast. WOW this thing is so cool.
I am going to put it in the cage today so when Lola & Libby wake up tonight they will have a
surprise. If they like it half as much as I do , it will be a hit.
Please let whoever designed this toy know I am very impressed with it.
We need more toys designed just for gliders. Thanks again for such a great product...(later
on)...Libby & Lola loved their new swing thing.
At first they tried to get it to turn like a Wodent
Wheel, LOL. Once they realized it wouldn't turn, they climbed around on the outside of it for
some time. Lola ate most of her dinner on it. She would grab a piece of fruit and hop inside to eat it.
Two thumbs up!

Swing Thing™

Product ID # 1214
Periodically changing and moving stuff around inside of your sugar glider's habitat is very
healthy for your critters and will keep them stimulated and happy.
They are very inquisitive and like to explore new things. So
how do you keep changing their cage set-up without spending
money on a lot of new stuff all the time?
Answer: Swing Thing! This toy can be "morphed" into different useful and functional forms that will create years
of safe, reliable pleasure for your pet. Arnold approved and glider tested,
it's sure to be a hit
for gliders and humans alike! And it was invented right here
at SunCoast Sugar Gliders!
In the top picture, this convertible contraption is displayed in its
"swing" form and is available for the adventurous sugar glider looking for a little change
from the "wheel world". Using nickel-plated
steel
screw-close clips, the swing simply clips to the top of the cage, dangling temptingly. When sugar gliders jump
on and explore the swing, they discover how to create a
swinging motion and rock back and forth, over and over. We
thought that was pretty cool!
But Arnold tried it and gave us a suggestion: how about figuring out a way for him to eat while he plays on his Swing
Thing? (That figures). So we added a little wicker basket
(second picture) designed to hold treats! Now, not only can your gliders swing, jump,
and climb their way around the
original "3-toys-in-1" design, but they can pop their heads into the treat basket to grab a couple of
bugs or Sweet
Treats for "instant energy"!
When (if!) they get bored with swinging, you can unclip the ends
and use this toy as
a hanging ladder or bridge (third picture). Each of the four
ends has a quick connect clip that to latch on to the sides or top of the cage - or
clip to another Swing Thing.
You can clip as many together
as you want to create long bridges for our gliders to play on!
Sugar gliders love adventure, so how about setting a couple Swing
Things up as an adventure climbing ladder?
If your cage is really tall, you can
attach them end to end to make a really tall ladder that can easily be converted
back to a swing again. Do you see the potential for all the
variety and fun you can create with this toy for your gliders?
But wait - there's more! The wooden beads and ladder steps
of the Swing Thing are strung on a thick but flexible metal wire
(also nickel-plated for safety) that holds the shape you bend it to
(fourth picture). How about
molding a Swing Thing into an arch you can use to support and
provide ladder access to other cage items? Or what about
hanging one upside down from the top of the cage like monkey bars?
You can shape a Swing Thing any way you want, and change the shape
over and over. You can mold different shapes and clip multiple
Swing Things together to create all kinds of ramps and paths.
Talk about an inexpensive way to provide a variety of challenges for
your gliders!
Use of this toy is only limited by your imagination! So humans, get creative and see
just how inquisitive your sugar gliders can get during playtime.
The construction materials used in this toy are all sugar glider safe.
The cross
members or "steps" of the ladder are beautiful and sturdy dragonwood.
Dragonwood is an extremely hard and durable natural wood that is not slippery and easy to clean.
Due to its natural
tree branch-like feel, it is considered to be extremely therapeutic for a sugar glider's feet.
Dragonwood has been used for years as one of the preferred woods in pet toy construction due to its durability, safety and natural beauty.
The ends of the steps have been rounded and smoothed to protect your glider's feet and nails.
The wood beads are colored with USDA safe dyes, and all the wire and
clips used are nickel-plated - completely safe and non-toxic to sugar gliders.
Stainless steel is also great for gliders but is rarely seen in pet
items because it is so expensive. So when
shopping other glider stores, ask what the clips, chains, or other
metal items are made of. Wrong answers include
"I dunno", "it says on the package they are zinc plated"
(includes most shiny hardware store items), or
"galvanized metal". In other words, if it ain't
nickel you could be in a pickle.
As a swing, the toy is about 8" tall with the swing
"seat" about 11 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide - it
easily handles 2 - 3 sugar gliders swingin' at a time. As a
ladder, it's about 26 inches long and 4.5 inches wide. As a
bridge or any other thing you decide to create, well, we don't know
how big that will be!
This toy is a perfect complement to a Wodent Wheel
or a Feather
Teaser. Give the gift of variety! Your gliders will
love you for it. Shipping is $6 per order no matter how many you
order - get more than one and create different toys or hook them
together to create mega-toys that will stimulate your gliders for
hours! Swing Thing
